Their shoes are soooo comfy! I only know that because I walked around Manhattan for a bit, grabbed a crepe, ate some ramen, walked some more, contemplated karaoke, changed my mind, and took the cab all the way back to the hotel in Brooklyn. Only to realize 2 hours later on my way up the stairs to the lobby that I was still wearing the darned shoes! Needless to say, I took another cab back to Bowlmor, then had to cab back again... (Life is never boring when you are absent-minded!) Upon finding Bowlmor, I felt I was transported back to the maid cafe in Japan. The entrance is an elevator in a tiny room... Kind of creepy Lol. The elevator dude was eye candy so he eased the creepiness of it. Hehehe I came here for a company event. I was disappointed that they didn't pick karaoke for an activity this time, but the food was delicious. Not your regular cheese fries and nachos junkfest bowling cuisine. Nah, Bowlmor had real food -- gourmet style even. We had a private party and the food and beer was free. Too bad I hate beer. I tried to like it but drinking piss doesn't appeal to me. Come on, where are the free martinis? Anyway, I bowled my usual 30 gutterballs and a few miracle ones (where I knocked at least 1 pin down!). This is a great place to hang out. I wouldn't mind bowling here again. Walking in here was a major WOW factor. They've got Flat screen TV's above the lanes and an actual bar to one side with steps leading upstairs to the club themed like a carnival. I couldn't go in but I just had a peek.  In general, if you've been to Firkin and Kegler, Bowlmor is just the same concept (bowling, clubbing, arcade, restaurant), but I didn't see a restaurant section. I guess the "restaurant" is just food brought to your lane. (I hear the arcade is somewhere in the club section but I didn't go up there.) Anyway, if you got bowling buddies, or you want to get their fancy friends into bowling. Or maybe they just don't feel like missing the game tonight and you got the itch to knock down some pins... So take them here!  Just please don't forget to bring back YOUR shoes with you when you leave.

We came here for brunch, so I speak for that. The food was CRAP, the atmosphere is posh and hip. Be sure to wear your Ed Hardy shirt, LOL. You come here to purchase the 'A' list celebrity life feeling, not the food. Very typical hollywood. Explains the circus dancers that entertain you while you eat. I would be ashamed to slap my name on a brunch menu like XIV's. Their food doesn't pair with the atmosphere. Its your typical diner food (without innovations, very generic, very boring), placed onto fancy white plates, where the setting is elegant, gothic, and dignified. Big contrast between atmosphere and food quality. We had eggs benedict, fried french toast, ny steak, scrambled eggs, and the caviar parfait. Everything was greasy. Too fatty even for my taste. Eggs benedict were poached nicely, along with an overly rich hollandaise sauce. If you used a hollandaise foam it would have been lighter and more edible.Fried french toast really? How bout adding fried twinkies to the menu as well? The steak frites were decent. The frites have a nice garlic seasoning. The caviar parfait comes with generous amount of caviar. Its tasty, but like everything on the brunch menu overly heavy. Typical of SBE restaurants to have terrible coffee. Even when I am paying $39 for my brunch entree? I can't get a decent cup? So if you want a Denny's with valet service and white table cloths by all means go for it.  However Denny's has fresher coffee.

The new Tongue and Groove is the old Lotus Lounge, not much different from what it used to be. The decor is much cooler and urban. Love the music on Thursdays, and the place is usually crowded on any given night. The place does try to be a little too posh sometimes-- this is NOT Vegas.
