Go For the Experience, Not To Get A Filling Meal! You plan your own menu for the whole table, so go with open-minded people. Each plate is eight bucks per person and it takes at least 10 to get a feeling of being somewhat full. The portions are tiny - it's smaller than a plating on Iron Chef. The atmosphere is like that of a den with dark woods, a fireplace, cozy couches, and books. Service is friendly, but only a few really explained the dishes to us. Working backwards, the Macallan Butterscotch is delicious. It has a semi-strong scotch flavor. The squid is very good - sweet and spicy asian flavors. I'll take a pass on the duck. The lamb is also good, but none of us knew it was the lamb we were eating. I probably will not be returning as I am rarely in Hollywood and I prefer ordering a filling meal made up of an appetizer and an entree. I cannot say the food is worth it. Only that is was a pleasant experience to do once.

Door 44 is in its' "soft-opening" couple of weeks before their grand opening April 16th. Check it out - great servers, great drinks, GREAT management. It's rockstar glam in midtown - a VERY welcome change from the usual bars/clubs in the area. This will definitely be one of my regular hangouts.

A great place to waste away an evening drinking a michelada. Goat cheese appetizer makes a nice accompaniment to whatever it is you are drinking.
