by vanessa d. on the differences in people and instances, walks of life and outlooks make this venue beautiful and unique. you look around in wonder and think about how all these different people have felt and understood each other without even knowing each other's names. they feel familiar and the vibe is intimate. from the message of what's being said, whispered, screamed, or staccatoed out loud to what resonates within our own individual chamber is a different message for everyone. but we all chose to be in that same room, and the echoes of those footsteps towards that threshold breathes life into an important, unspoken unity.
by Gertrude Ahmad on Hunk. O. Mania. So I have been on a bit of a rateclubs hiatus, but my first review in a while shall be devoted to the fabulous men of Hunk-o-mania. We had a VIP table up front and center, right in front of the stage, to celebrate my friend's bachelorette party, and we were all dressed like hookers, in red tanks, black bottoms, fishnets, bright red knee socks, blonde or red wigs, and makeup to match. We even rolled up in a limo. We got lots of stares, and later that night when we got separated one of us got "busted" by the police and I was given $20 just to talk to a guy's friend. Free cab fare, at least?! Arman, the manager (?) there set everything up for us, greeted us with a hug and kiss when we got there, and hooked us up! Champagne, drinks, HOT men, HOTTER lapdances, and lots, LOTS of dolla bills. But seriously some of the men were totally swoon-worthy, and freakin STRONG. They were lifting up and swinging around girls of all sizes left and right. Poses were scannnndallouuusss~~~ I'm no saint, for sure, but some of the things they did made my mouth drop wide open. Haha. But really, a truly awesome time with GREAT service, in more ways than one. ;-)
by Edward L. on LOVE the MJQ Concourse...the coolest people are there regularly. Girls with bright smiles, dirty shoes and no make-up who you'd love to have breakfast with. Great music and atmosphere... The fact that it's cash only kinda keeps control on insane group shot purchases.
