by DW C. on Came here to have a quick bite and toss some balls. Got a plate of nachos, some wings, and a burger. Everything tasted ok until BOOM my friend spotted a baby cockroach in the nachos. The manager was nice and took it off the bill, as well as apologized a few times. But still, pretty NASTY. Also, we couldn't bowl despite it being 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon. Apparently, some league was using up every alley. Come on, this ain't Quaker Country, it's NYC -- save some alleys for the people! Finally, my friend tried to pay for our dirty food with a credit card, only to be embarrassingly told that it was declined. We all felt embarrassed and awkward, only to be told fifteen minutes later that it was a problem with their credit card machine. Bowl on!
by ML T. on I've only been here once and that was to watch infected mushroom perform. It was RIDICULOUS(in a good way) the sound system was amazing. and Infected themselves are always kickass. I don't think i would ever go to Vanguard for a regular clubbing night. I heard its very AZN and the actual venue and decor wasn't superd, reminded me of a big warehouse.But i did like their outdoor patio, i would come here for another band show though :]
by Chung Breer on I came here with a LARGE group of DRUNK girls.... i was SOBER... but u know what I had a blast... we got to dance and go crazy. BUT: its very small, you can hardly shake your booty because there are so many people trying to do their thang on the dance floor. The bartenders were polite and came to me right away but they were not like that to my friends, maybe its because they were already wasted....the main reason it gets 3 starts is because of their bathroom situation, there were only 2 single toilet and urinal bathrooms and honestly who has only 1 bathroom for girls and two for guys?!?!?!? I mean i understand it at the Giants game because they drink more, but at a bar, lets be honest... we have to pee just as much if not more. BUt the DJ was good and I look forward to seeing my friend spin here in the near future!
