not too bad. I would give 2.5 stars do to the overall mediocrity. the food, the Enchilada Mole Negro, which i've had the two visits is good. The mole is tasty. my partner had Fajita, which was somewhat a soup of oil and grease and bell peppers. the table service is good as well -most are friendly. The bar tenders, well theyre like the decor. the atmosphere is similar to an upbeat midtown location. Although, Pure swerves toward the pretentious and the bartenders, the eve. i was there were more interested in the "yuppie" ladies seated than assisting the two farm folk in middle of bar. the clientele is somewhat eclectic minus the "hipster"commoner that would normally occupy the area joints. not bad and i would probably go back for take out with the right item or if i feel the need for clean cut all american desire to be hip vibe in a taqueria.

I don't like this place much considering alllllll the bouncers are soo rude!!!! We got there and one of friend was able to get only the girls in so all the boys had to wait in line. They waited for 30 minutes and it didn't even move yet!!! How ridiculous is that?! Cover was $20. Inside was so tiny and so packed that it was impossible to dance and to walk!!! Girls there bump and elbow you on the dance floor seriously wanting to start fights! Drinks there are weak and of course expensive. One of my friend and I went to see if we could go outside and talk to the boys but the bouncer stopped us and we asked him if we could go out and back in really quick, he yelled at us saying no in or outs. Then he asked us to see if we wanted to leave, we didn't answer him in like 5 secs, he started yelling at us to get back in and proceeded to push us! That's right, i said PUSH! Then when we decided to leave since the boys didn't even move at all, we left and while we were walking out the door, the bouncer yelled at us saying "don't you see the people trying to get it? What are you doing?" Then we responded with saying "we're leaving" then he yelled at us to step back and let the people come in then pushing my friend against the door. The bouncers here are really mean, rude and aggressive!!!! I wouldn't come back here. Apparently if you're coming here, even though you know people, it only works if you're coming with all girls.

If the oodles of delicious, cheap, vegan, Ethiopian entrees served in generous portions weren't reason enough for me to love Club Waziema, well... There's also the jukebox, heavy on funk, soul, jazz, and blues, all the more appropriate in a place endowed with the legend of Billie Holiday, performing in the back room during the golden era... And the mistletoe... AND... The wallpaper. Red. Fuzzy. Different.
