by Danielle C. on I've loved the Dragonfly for many a year thanks to the Spazmatics. Good god are they fun. I (hazily) recall dancing on the stage once just because they were THAT GOOD. So unlike me, even back in my youth (let's face it, my youth has left the building) Went in last night to watch a friend's band play and was reminded of why I used to come here so often. Friendly bartenders who are on top of things, pretty decent sound for the bands playing, and a nice back patio for your smoking needs. -1 for the sometimes painful street parking and the bar tab that bitch slapped me in the face at the end of the night. I'm not used to Hollywood prices anymore!
by sarah F. on Turns out I had been to this bar before, when I was visiting from Hawai'i many years ago. So, we ended up here on a Thursday night, and it was pretty dead. But a great place to drink, nevertheless. I stuck to beer, but I did see they had Jell-O shots at the bar, and that impressed me! Love jell-o shots. When I came here years ago, it was a weekend night, and it was packed. Dancing, good music, crowded, etc. I like this bar. It's dark and fun. Love the disco balls on the ceiling. The DJ was spinning house, but I wish he played a little MJ. Well, I guess you can't have everything.
by Monroe Bogumil on I still frequent MJQ every now and then but it is more of a past experience for me. The drinks are pretty cheap, the crowd is pretty diverse and insane. Its a great spot to get drunk, let loose and dance. Wednesday night Brit-Pop @11pm is always a blast and the best night to head to MJQ. If you want an interesting night with a group of friends head here.... you just might not be able to see them when you get inside.
