this place is terrible. i went a few times when i was too young to get in other places. i returned recently at the urging of some friends as a kind of, remember when we were too young to go anywhere else joke, and I HAD MY ID CONFISCATED. my real id. the bouncer was extremely rude to me, told me that i could either give him my real id, walk away, or call the police. obviously i called the police. in the mean time my friends and i had to wait in the rain for about an hour for them to show up so that i could get my id back. from the experiences i had when i actually went in: the different floors offer some variety of music, but none of it is very good. i also encountered a number of unattractive men in their 40s and 50s preying on younger girls. if you are 21 or older and are not a desperate, older gentleman who would like the company of other such men, don't bother.

I like the music and that there's two rooms that allow you to switch off if you're not enjoying the music in one. I had to give 3 stars because of the brunette bartender upstairs on Thursday nights. She will try to hustle you. She used top shelf liquor (Patron) in my tequila sunrise when I didn't even ask for it. And when I confronted her about it she had the audacity to say "if you don't want top shelf then you have to tell me when you order your drink." She is the dumbest bartender I've ever encountered... Beside her the place is great!

THERE IS ACTUALLY A SLIDE YOU CAN GO DOWN!!!! Ah.... that is awesome. If you're a punk and you don't want want to get the back of your jacket dirty (pansy) then you can take the steps down into this underground jungle of house and hip hop and whatever else the DJ decides the crowd is feeling. Drinks are surprisingly reasonable here and it is much more mellow than what is happening above at Ruby Skye. Not that Ruby Skye is a terrible place to be but when you need something a little less than, "I can actually feel the bass throughout body" then Slide might be a better bet for you. Very hip place though. Very, LAesque
