by Zenobia Frabizzio on I'll give it 3.5 stars since it's still so popular. Still great music, still a packed hot spot and the drinks still have a rep. for being ungodly strong. I think Saturdays may be better than Fridays (I really should know by now). Last time I was there on a Friday night it felt little less classy, and by 2 .a.m. blechh. I guess what else can you expect from a Hollywood dance club though. In its defense I have had some great times here with friends and have met a few nice guys along with the players. One of the covered areas by the upper bar allows smoking (it's basically indoors). I do understand the bouncers wanting everyone to exit through the back of the club so that it doesn't look like anyone is leaving. But a sketchy alley in Hollywood really doesn't seem a safe exit for women.
by Brett-Patrick J. on I don't hang out much in Hollywood. I love LA, but between the tourists and flashy wannabes, I don't really feel at home in Hollywood. Unless I'm eating Mexican food. With salsa. And frijoles. And guacamole. Then I can feel at home almost anywhere. Literally. So much so that after three margaritas, and an order of fish tacos, I demanded a blanket and passed out in the booth at Velvet Margarita. Ok Ok, so I didn't really pass out. Blacked out is probably a better description. Eating a delicious plate of fish tacos will do that to a man. The Velvet Margarita is a Mexican food lovers oasis. It's slightly overpriced and a little tacky, but it's good food and good service make up for a lot. Great for groups.
by Mitsue Riesland on hella fun! my girls and i went here for a friends birthday and it was definitely a memorable night. Temple is one of the nicer clubs in the city and has a little bit to offer everyone. bay music and hip hop basement level with electronica upstairs. The Djs downstairs were awesome and were all about requests and birthday shout outs. Music was good all night long! although it felt a little off to go dumb next to a buddha twice my size. We got on the guest list and somehow avoided the huge ass line but the place is pricey so do THE GUESTLIST thing! and just arrive early. We got nice and toasty in the limo so I didn't make it to the bar, but ambiance, music and appeal overall, 5 stars. I'll definitely go again.
