My boyfriend's brother picked Zahav as his random "I'm new to town and I heard this was good," place to eat so we headed over. I hadn't heard/read about it, but I smelled trouble when I found out it was in Old(e) City. Trouble meaning "Oh god. I'm so poor. Help me." This was our first experience with a tapas style restaurant, but our server sensed our confusion and took the time to explain how to order. We opted out of the tasting menu since some of us were not prepared to stuff ourselves senseless (me). We ordered the hummus as an appetizer and godDANG it was amazing. It was swimming in butter and had entire chick peas. Complete chick peas. I love chick peas. The rest has already been typed about, I'm sure. Zahav is worth emptying your pockets for... Or allowing someone else to empty their pockets.
