by Mommy D. on Another Bday celebration spot, it was so busy we got 11:45 p.m reservations. I was still excited to go... We arrived had drinks at the bar which were very good. We ordered our food it was delicious. The server bought us out a special designed bday dessert and it was YUMMIE! Love this place a must atleast once....

Some of my favorites were the lecture on how various animals have SEX, and a documentary about the depopulation of frogs worldwide. -Alligator gars in the aquarium downstairs. These guys are weird looking. -Penguin feeding time -Outstanding DJ's spinning intelligent and eclectic electronica -Very well-dressed and classy crowd. Adults only, no groups of screaming kids to maneuver around. -Less than half the price of regular museum admission Lowlights: -The planetarium is ok, but below the quality of the one in the Museum of Natural History in New York. The New York one has higher resolution and offers a 360 degree view. The Academy of Sciences one is more like a curved IMAX screen. Passes to the planetarium and certain special programs go quickly, so it pays to come as early as possible.
by Lahoma Tangabekyan on I went ot Buddha Bar for a friend's birthday there were prob about 15 of us all together. We just went for drinks. I was not so impressed... I compare it to being in like Disney World but without all the kids and rides. Way too themey and on top of that the door man would not let two people in our group in with out giving them a really hard time, they were a married couple, dressed fine. Everythough we had put names on a list or some crap and let them know they were part of our party. When we finally got everyone in together I found the place to be a little overly themey for me. It was WAY too big and loud and just too cheesy for my personal taste. I paid $15 for half a glass of really crappy wine which was also stupid and the coat check line was relentless. I think this place would be cool if it was in say Orlando, FL but for NYC I expected much more. If you are going to be pretentious about who you let in, let me be impressed by what's going on inside. On a up note, the music was pretty cool just awkwardly loud.
