I recently went here for a friends birthday ( Jan. 22nd) and was less than impressed. My first experience at the BL was HORRIBLE just HORRIBLE. Management and business ethics suck. The so called bouncers take their job just a lil' too seriously! (especially that big punk ass MUNGO fuck face!) Ambiance-thumbs down! no ventilation! music was horrible! people were rude! bathroom was disgusting! I will never ever come back! Fuck a bubble!

OK, OK, before you jump on me, let me defend my five stars.  I'm rating this on what you WANT to get from the Varsity, not as if it were gourmet dining.  For what one is hoping to find at the Varsity, by gosh, you FIND it. It's VITAL to park in one of the stalls to have car-hop experience...it's just plain part of the experience, and inside is sort of grungy. Expect your cholesterol to sky-rocket...what the heck...enjoy.  The glorified steak (hamburger with all the trimmings) is 1950, 1940 perfection. The frosted orange (like a dreamsicle frosty) is exactly what you would hope for.  The fried onion rings will send you to heaven right before they send you into a coronary.  The french fries are 1950 greasy-perfection. Kids LOVE this place.  The prices are unbelieveably inexpensive.  Car-hop service is fast and efficient. We're a third-generation Varsity fan, and will be fourth-generation in a couple of years.

I've been to The Park many times for brunch/late lunch and dinner. Nearly every time I've gone the food has been exceptional, I even gave my compliments to the chef once (i know, i'm a dork ;), there was only one off night when the food was so-so. There is usually no wait for a late lunch and almost always a 20+ minute wait for dinner (in the garden area) on a week-end. It's really worth it though, to eat in their outside garden-ish area. Really lovely, you feel secluded from the city and still get fresh air. The waitstaff is generally friendly and professional. If you go here I'd reccommend the catfish, really very yummy!
