Off of Locust street, nestled in an alley, this club/bar combination is quite hidden. In fact, except for the rainbow flag and dozens of young people swarming in the doorway and into the street, I might mistake this place for someone's house. Get inside, though, and you have your choice of a mellow piano bar atmosphere (not my fave, but good for those in a singing mood), and a booming dance floor. My only two complaints: when it's crowded, there's a line to get up to the floor with the dance floor, and the floor is so packed that you really gotta shove to get a space to dance. Also, the men definitely outnumber the women, so if you're looking for a women scene in the neighborhood, might be better to try Sisters. On the plus side: no cover charge, decent drinks (both in taste and price), and (most importantly), on the dance floor, everyone gets fully into the music. Classics like "Seasons of Love" and "Like a Prayer" are set to a dance beat, and everyone sings full out as they dance their hearts out. I love it.

I loved the old Fado. It was a staple of my mid-twenties nights out in Buckhead, before Buckhead changed and then was caved in on itself. The new Fado, is well, very similar to the old Fado, just with a more vertical layout. We went with great interest to see what it was like for lunch today after a morning of tuxedo shopping for our wedding. The good: The beers, the food, and the environment. The bad: The seemingly myriad flies that swarmed all around us while we ate and drank inside. We sat downstairs inside, at a table by some stained glass windows. Nice large flatscreen tv's all around the downstairs, and they were tuned to rugby and European football while we were there. I had a corned beef sandwich and she had the pear and blue cheese salad. They came out fast (it wasn't very busy), and were both delicious and well prepared in a pub food sort of way. Our server was attentive and nice, and joked with us a bit about my picture taking. I waked around a little after we finished eating. The rooftop patio, which I didn't know about when we got there, is the place to sit and enjoy your beer on a nice day. I will definitely sit there when we go back. One last useful note. Valet parking is a ripoff at five dollars. Especially for lunch. I wish I could give them a 3.5, because that's what they deserve.

I used to live down the street, and probably went here to eat and have drinks 3 out of the 7 days in a week. The food is good, and very reliable. The waitstaff is friendly, but the bartenders are not.
