I really want to like this place more, since the concept is very cool. I like the idea of fusion between art and a bar/lounge/club. But, my experience last night fell short of my expectations. I was there for their http://RAWartists.orgevent, where they choose various promising artists, photographers, designers, musicians, and dancers to showcase their work. In my mind, it was going to be a party with some art in the background. It was the opposite, which is fine, I just wasn't a huge fan of a lot of the stuff. And, since when does "cocktail attire" mean wear skinny hipster jeans?! Yes, I've lived in SF for over 5 years now, so should be used to this constant casual style, but my inner East Coast child makes me dress up when I go out. Anyway, it was briefly entertaining, but my "friend" and I weren't so excited about spending a whole lot of time there. So, here's the breakdown: 1 star for the concept and giving new artists a shot, 1 star for nice bartenders and cheap drinks, and 1 star for my "friend."

In '89 to'94, we were there every time the doors were open. Pete was at the door and Suzanne(hairdresser) was bar back. It was the closest place to play from Durant OK. The old gang (Bev the nurse, Karen the PI, Freddie the dancer, Tim, the truck driver, Jim, & Keith from Bohaman) there were more but to old to remember. Dance floor was little but big enough, hope they have enlarged it. I am sure it has changed hands a few times since then, but it was a good place to dance.

this is my fave of them all nut im only really giving them 3 1/2 starsi think this is the nicest nyc lane however its overpriced for bowling and drinks but it is a good space the reservation process is annoying though and they should really ease up at the end of the day by the time ur done reserving lanes it would have been easier just to go to a bar or movie theatre for something to do on a friday night if they got a little easier with there resi process it would get a full fledged four and review

Came here for a birthday dinner(party of 14) and stayed for the show. I was going to write about why this place deserves a 2 star. But it's been too long and I forgot the details. All I know is my food was not that great, I ordered the Arctic Char, it was just ok. Portion was ok for the price, but flavor was lacking. My gf's food sucked big time. She ordered the short rib I think. There were also a few others that did not enjoy their food. The waiter seemed a little absent minded. And the music after did not fit my taste. But you don't mark down a restaurant down for that, and i did not. The 2 star is purely for the food and service.

Ok...here it goes. I started going to Calhoon's on Thursday nights when i was 18 years old. Fell in love with it. The people, the atmosphere, the music. Everything there is perfect. I met my first husband there and still go every once in a while. I am 22 now, in the last 4 years I rarely missed a week.
