i've been here once. i forget what the deal was that particular night, i don't think they were doing anything special, and it was a thursday night. IT GOT INSANELY, CRAZILY PACKED. and, it was super HOT and GROSS-feeling. i've experienced hotness before, but this place and one other takes the cake for air thick and heavy with sweat moisture. if there was air conditioning, you would never know, at least not in the front room. the back room was cooler and less crowded, but the music was more electronicy and less danceable which explained why.

Having lived a block away from Halo for 2+ plus years during 2005-07ish years, I found myself ending up at Halo literally three nights a week. It was kind of like my neighborhood "Cheers" (along with MidCity Cafe), and I guess I became somewhat of a regular (not sure if that is a good thing?). I no longer live just a block away, but I still manage to make it into Halo randomly. The bartenders and front door staff are cool, and I always felt comfortable going there. I didn't even know there was a cover to get in? When I go back now, it seems to be overrrun by cheesy Buckhead folk who seem to be lost since Mako's and LuLu's Baitshack were demolished. There is hope - now that T&G has re-opened at Lindbergh, maybe the cheesiness will slowly disperse in that direction. Fridays/Saturdays are always way crowded and overwhelming. You can't really move anywhere in the bar area. Never have been a fan of the music there, but good bar, good drinks, and good times were had more often than not!

Mark and I headed out for an wonderful evening and ran into another ratecluber who mentioned Vessel. We thought we would try it out since it was on our way home and could potentially become our new "spot" given the close proximity to our house. NO THANKS!!!!! We arrived only to get a huge helping of ego's at the door. They wanted $20 a person to enjoy what I am sure are over priced cocktails inside. Someone might want to let them know that this is not L.A so you might want to check your very fabulous attitudes at the door. It would be unlikely I would visit again unless they changed their attitude and their cover charge!
