by Nelle Lota on I'm not sure the food has much to do with Italy -- at least it is not very like what I encounter here in Europe/italy, but it doesn't matter. The waiters aren't Italian, either, even though they act like they are. Again, doesn't matter. This place is the greatest! The vibe here is something of a by-gone era -- the era of the "old man restaurant". The wood paneling, the paintings, the low ceiling, the waiters in tuxedos -- it's all perfect. The food is basic. You'll pay a bit extra for Alfredos's success, but it's all part of the festive setting. Reservations are pretty much essential if you don't want to wait. Order the raviolini pomodoro (dill infused goat cheese ravioli with a nice tomato sauce). Go ahead and order wine. Do an appetizer and for sure an after dinner port or cognac. Just do it up. You'll be glad you did. If you drive by in the middle of the night, people are partying here "by invitation only", I imagine.
by Kristina D. on It's Pride weekend, what better time to go to a gay club? My friend David (yes, he's gay, no, I'm not) used to work at Dragon, so he totally got us the hook up. We didn't pay cover, which was expensive because of the time of the year. When you first walk in, you think that it's small, but oh no, there's a lot to this place. The music is good, dance/techno on the first floor and more R&B on the second floor. All the guys at the bar are super friendly, the crowd is pretty cool too...not too many creepers around. The go-go dancers are hot..and gay...sigh. It's mainly an Asian scene, but there are those few white guys around. I had a great time dancing away in the fog and laser lights. Soooo much fun. It gets pretty crowded around 1130, so if you want to avoid the line, show up around 10-1030.
by Brittany E. on i love little baobab!! i love it so much that i pout hardcore when they're closed on sunday's and i've brought my sister here to feast. i love it so much that i order baobab take-out and sit in my apartment and squeal like a little pig while i chow down on the cari yap. i love it so much that i recommend it to people who don't even want to hear about it. "what, you looking for a fancy restaurant to take your parents - go to baobab!" "first date? baobab!" "you look hungry, let's go to baobab."
