Decor is very well done. Especially the stage. Kind of pricey, though. Call me cheap, but $5 for a well v/t is hardly a "drink special". Nor will I drop $20, just to get into a club. (Unless the show is really awesome) I went for "Satisfaction", a 60's garage/soul/psych night. Probably would have stayed longer, but the surf-rock band didn't exactly help the tension headache that I was trying to fend off. I ended up splitting by midnight. Based on the reviews, I would have expected shitty attitudes from the bar staff. Nothing of the sort noted.

This place is great, but way too crowded on weekends (unless that's what you're looking for) The drinks are amazing. Fruity, but not sweet or gloopy. So, living in the city long enough you understand that anything worth doing is kept relatively underground. Wednesday night salsa is one of those "secrets". Most of the dancers seemed as if they were regulars as they changed partners after almost every song. So fun to watch! Everyone there was there to have fun. All the girls were wearing flats--that's how you know they mean business. Super friendly, too. Will be back.

Please allow me to preface this review by admitting that I tried desperately to change my 9am Wednesday class just for Tuesday nights at Star Bar. Unsuccessful, sigh. But that hasn't stopped me! This bar is too much fun! The local musicians are wonderfully talented, and the crowd is crazy and friendly. Little Five Points is a refreshing change from the Buckhead scene. I've been on the weekends though and the atmosphere is less magical. Try Tuesday, I can say with confidence Star Bar is totally worth the Wednesday morning hang over :o)
