Went here last night (saturday) for my friend's birthday with 2 guys & 4 girls. They made us wait in line for an hour and made us pay. My friends have been here before and she told me that they usually just walk up to the front & get in. I'm assuming it's because of the guys--whatever. Inside, the club is well decorated & spacious. The crowd was pretty mixed but it was mostly whites. The smoking area is indoors but I didn't even notice it while we were inside. The music wasn't exactly my cup of tea. He played the same things twice and it was the same type of beat over and over. I heard the bartender charge my bf $24/25 for 2 drinks. I'm not even sure if there was alcohol in it. I usually enjoy myself at clubs but I think it was the music and the line to get in that killed it for me this time.

I first discovered this place when my buddy and I, out for a night on the town decided to tie one on here before we headed home. We walked in during the last set of Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers. The bouncer didn't make us pay a cover even though there was 40 minutes or so in the set left. The venue looks better then the pics show. Small, intimate Jazz club is what comes to mind. They have a supper club, but I've never been. I've seen Lavay and her band her several times, and it's the best small venue for Jazz. The kind of place where you can call out to the performers and they can hear and see you. I must admit, engaging the torch singer in a small banter in between sets is a great feeling. the audience really feels like its part of the show. Not much room for dancing but this isn't a swing dancing place; like I said, think old school Jazz club. The drinks are ample, reasonably priced and the bar is well stocked and the bartenders don't seem too pretentious. All in all, it only gets bumped down a star for not having the nicest of bathrooms. For a place this cool they should invest in a remodel there. For men, no big deal but ladies, you may want to take note. It's right at the base of the Castro and it draws a very diverse crowd. I love this place and it's the spot where I was introduced to one of the best singers in SF..Ms. Lavay Smith.

This club is a major destination for the underground club scene and this club is literally underground. No, really it is under the parking lot.
