by Roland Marcelle on It was our first time at this place and we did not know what to expect, in terms of crowd, service, etc. They had ONE bartender in the entire place. We had to wait over 30-45 minutes for a drink. I felt so sorry for the bartender. The place was too crowded and not as diverse as I anticipated. I will give them extra points for the talkative guy at the door, the friendly bartender (despite being overworked) and for the decent band performances/DJ.
by Graham Gogan on Boo Lucky Strike. My issues: 1. The drinks here suck. They are so weak and made poorly. 2. The nachos are awful. They use some sort of pseudo cheese thing for it, it made me sick. 3. The bartenders and waitresses are nice, but the people at the front desk were rude and unhelpful. 4. We showed up at 7:30 on a Saturday and we were told that since we got there early, we would only have to wait like 30-40 minutes for a lane. Okay, so we sit at their bar and start drinking their crappily made drinks. At this time we were the only people waiting for a lane in the bar/restaurant area. An hour later we check in with them and they give us attitude and blow us off. We continued to check in every 30 minutes or so until about 3 hours later when we just gave up and left. I don't understand, we were the only people there waiting when we got there, I think the bitchy desk people gave away our lane. The only redeeming qualities: 1. Maybe the bowling is actually good...I wouldn't know. 2. They make good fries. 3. If you are into the whole Hollywood atmosphere, you'll like it here. The lounge totally reminded me of L.A.
by Alex p. on What happened to my beloved Bohemian? I practically used to live here back in the day. I went to meet some old friends last time I came home to visit from SF, and It's just not the same anymore. I will admit that the decor is much more asthetic now but I just don't feel the heart that it use to have. Maybe that's becuase I was sober and I didn't stay to see the doors close....hmmm?
