I finally went to Halo for the first time... It was definitely better than I had expected. My fellow rateclubsers were right.... The decor is trendy, perhaps even a little bit on the border line of trendy and cheesy but still quite nice. The drinks were well made... dirty martinis all the way. Good looking and well dressed people crowded the place but not overly so that you felt like you were trapped in a tuna can but busy enough that you didn't think you were missing some party that you hadn't heard about. The only problem I see is that they play good music.... This becomes difficult, if you are like me, and want to dance. The dance floor is about the size of a peanut and while some people do dance, its not meant to be a dance club. Overall, a good place to chill.

This is my favorite restaurant.period. I am waiting for the STK in Miami to open. The vibe is always a good time and I've never had a problem with the service. You should call for reservations though--It's always packed. Try the shrimp appy, steak with blue butter, and the mac and cheese. It's simply the best. Molten chocolate cake for dessert...mmm. This spot is in the meat packing district and worth the cab ride, and even the trip to NYC!

Since Compound closed its doors over MLK weekend (still not sure why, but I think it's to renovate) it seems that Dreamz is a welcome replacement. Like the Velvet Room and Studio 72, the club is kinda in the middle of nowhere. But don't be fooled, it's a great new establishment to get your drink and two step on. When you walk in you enter into a small lounge and bar area with a DJ spinning a good mix of older and newer Hip Hop and R&B. Actually the DJ was just standing there in her giant fur hoodie and sunglasses staring into the crowd, but the music was hot. Once past the lounge area you enter into a HUGE dancefloor area. There are two more bars on each side along with VIP sections strategically placed in the middle of the floor and along the elevated sides. In the middle is a stage where the 'real' DJ keeps the crowd moving. TV's circle around the area and the the room just has a really nice vibe. The drinks were a decent price and even shots of Patron were under $10. As with any club in the ATL a celeb could be there and in fact, Ne-Yo made a surprise appearance and performed a few of his hits. I'll definitely be back next time I want to go clubbing.
