ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I would give the place zero stars if I could. We went to Duvet for a bachelorette party last night. We began the night by getting our bags and bodies thoroughly searched. The woman who searched my bag removed my expensive tweezers and nail clipper and told me I can not bring them into the club. When I asked if I can pick them up on my way out, she said no! I cannot possibly understand why I would not be allowed to collect my confiscated belongings at the end of the night when I am leaving. That was the first ridiculous part of the night and we hadn't even entered the club yet. My friend booked her bachelorette party through a promoter "Johnny," who by the way, is absolutely full of crap and I do not suggest ever using him. He originally told us (via email, we have it in writing), that we need to purchase three $250 bottles of grey goose in order to reserve a bed for our party. So it would be $750, INCLUDING tax and gratuity. When we arrived, we had to argue with Johnny's promoter chick (Johnny wasn't even there) and she was a horribly nasty little brat. The club tried to charge us 40% on top of the $250 cost per bottle of grey goose for tax and gratuity. He said 20% for gratuity and 20% tax. I am a good tipper, and I would never complain about tipping 20% (even though the girls that brought us the liquor literally poured us each one drink and left the bottles and mixers at the bed for us to do ourselves), but 20% tax isn't even legal. He had the nerve to tell me to "just pay the price we are telling you, charge it to your credit card, and then dispute it with your credit card company." WHAT THE HELL!? I argued with him and told him that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I cannot believe the way this place does business. His response was "this is how my boss handles things here. just charge it and dispute it." I ended up speaking to the manager, and she was not nice either. I asked her to please just send at least one bottle over to the bed while we were discussing this because all of the girls in the party were just sitting there waiting for this to be resolved and didn't have any liquor for at least 45 minutes. She said "That's not an option. You either have to purchase 3 bottles and pay in advance, or you have to leave the bed." Again, ridiculous. Then she said that they would charge 20% gratuity and 7% tax (gee thank you, that's the normal rate). So the bottles of grey goose ended up costing about $317 each (instead of the $250 each that the promoter told us). If I really could have, I would have just left. But we were already there, and I just wanted my friend to have a good time. I felt awful that she even had to deal with this on the night of her bachelorette party.  I didn't want her night to be ruined (she was already upset enough about the situation as it was), so I just caved in and agreed to charge the $960 to my credit card for the 3 bottles of grey goose, and then deal with the money issue later so everyone could just have a good time. When we finally did agree to pay for the bottles, it took a good 20 minutes to get the liquor over to the bed. (Oh, and by the way, the beds are pretty gross). The DJ was pretty horrible. He kept playing about 20-30 seconds worth of songs. Never played a full song. So if a song happened to come on that you actually liked, it was changed in 20 seconds. All in all, I will NEVER go back to this place and I would never want to give them my business. After all of the arguing about the price was finished, we did end up having a really good time and we drank and danced the rest of the night, but again, that was only because we were trying to make the best of a bad situation. Oh, and the crowd that this place attracts leaves much to be desired. I highly recommend that you stay away from Duvet. Horrible service, unaccommodating management, overpriced drinks, unappealing crowd and bad DJ. There's literally nothing good I can say about it.

First of all, shameless promotion http://www.biteclub.com, a social networking site for the restaurant and bar industry, PLUS YOU DRINK FREE IF YOUR A MEMBER!!!!!!! This is the reason I found myself on a beautiful San Francisco Monday night faded out of my mind and never having seen so much Patron, never drank so much Patron and had so much fun the whole time! The atmosphere is really nice, it does have more of an LA feeling to the place, you know color changing lights and VIP.  But I really enjoyed it, the co-ed bathrooms were fun too, and the line goes much faster.  The people were beautiful the bar was beautiful and the free drinks till midnight were out of control... the ice sculpture rocked it! The bartenders were so nice and so was the cocktail waitress, Lisa I think if I remember correctly.  I would like to go again and see what it was like on any other night when its not an open bar full of industry professionals, my guess is more expensive.... haha.  But its a sweet club near union square and I suggest you  check it out!

This place is your definition of hole in the wall!  You walk in and there's a few small tables and then the kitchen to the left and then the food in front of you.  There's not much space to even turn around. The food here is authentic and cheap!  The best thing to do is to just let the chef pick your food for you.  You get 3 dishes on a plate with rice for only $5. And it's lots of food!  You can also get a side of chicken or lamb satay.  Just go on the weekend, as the satay is only available on the weekends. The pace is slow here, so you might have to wait a bit to get your food.  It's no frills.  There's no heat, so in winter, it's friggin cold. You're eating on styrofoam plates and plastic forks and paper napkins.  So go here for the food, not the ambiance!
