Okay this place has an amazing ambiance. I mean their is a freaking 40 foot statue of Buddha in the room! They have really cool, girly drinks and have great asian dishes. I would say however that the food is great, but its really pricy. As a result, I would recommend you get dishes you've never had before. I had the swordfish which was pretty good. The deal here is that you can get good service with great ambiance all wrapped together. The fortune cookie dessert is a must I have to say. Also as far as going to the restrooms Yang = Mens, and Yin = Womens. Yes it confused a couple of us. FYI get reservations.

Awesome outdoor spot when the weather cooperates. There's a ping pong table and fools ball table. There are plenty of tables and chairs on the ground level where there's a roof. There are also plenty of tables and chairs on the roof where you will have an uninhibited view of the waterfront. We only had drinks when we're there but the food looked really awesome. Large steamed lobsters, personal-sized pizzas, crab cakes, steamed clams, old-bay dusted fries, burgers etc. Everything looked delicious. The atmosphere is laid back, casual and relaxed. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, around 4pm and it wasn't overly crowded. It looks like a pretty big space anyway. If only I discovered this earlier this summer.

Like the other Rateclubers have already documented here, this is a super intimate place to see your favorite acts. Think of it as a miniature Fillmore in terms of layout with an open floor (with seats depending on the act) and a balcony. It is nice and small so it gets nice and loud. There is no bad vantage point in the place. It doesn't get 5 stars because of the neighborhood it's in. OK, hipsters younger than me: You are right that I'm a middle-aged suburban parent and maybe have too low a tolerance for the rougher edges of the Tenderloin. That doesn't mean I want to worry about my iPod in my car when it's parked outside on O'Farrell Street while I'm getting my groove on inside the GAMH.
