Can't really say too much about The Clermont that hasn't already been said, so I won't even try. I would also have a hard time explaining my love for this place. I've been here for huge new year's eve parties and I've been on monday nights when myself and the people I came with were the only people in the place, and I can honestly say it really doesn't matter when you go, JUST THAT YOU GO. Sooooo much fun. PS: I know a lot of people don't tip the strippers, but you get muchhhh better bar service if you do, especially if you're sitting at the bar.

Dance club? That's not a dance club... thiiiis, is a dance club! (Clubs you over the head!) I have to admit... I was shocked that there was a little L.A. style club next to the place we just got 20 cent wings from! Atlanta does that to you. City planning was clearly not a priority. I've stopped asking "why" now, and just go with with the flow! You have to! And thanks to people like Kit (walked us right in) the flow can be pretty damn smooth! The space itself is impressive architecturally, and I love dance music, so I really wanted to move it after a couple of drinks! Sadly... really sadly... there wasn't a dance floor to speak of! It's a lounge... so sad. If it had a decent sized dance floor this would be my spot to go nuts at! Pounding lights, beautiful people, deep thundering music that makes your ass move! Talking would be almost as impossible as dancing was... and you know what that means kids... Have no illusions, Halo is a pick up bar. A place where you come to see and be seen. Not that there's anything wrong with that... I just prefer something a lot more... um... raw!

I've never really been into clubs, but I was always up for it if a group of my friends was set on going. I went to Compound 3 or 4 times, and it transformed my dislike of clubs into pure hatred and was the catalyst for my self-made vow to not go clubbing again. The whole 40-year-old-dude-grinding-up-on-you-from-behind-wh ile-beads-of-his-sweat-fall-into-your-hair-as-you- become-nauseated-by-an-overwhelming-wave-of-cheap- cologne thing just doesn't appeal to me on a Saturday night. The two stars I'm giving Compound are for it's size - because it was so huge, I was able to escape the involuntary grinding fairly quickly. It's so spread out that you will lose the group you came with if you don't stay together. Anyways, what really turned me off about this place was the crowd. Some people have called it "diverse", but I beg to differ. I felt very out of place and didn't see a variety of people there at all. I'll admit that I don't think I could ever give any club 5 stars, but this one was sketchier than most. The lines were really long every time I went, and the cover was always high. I don't know if they've re-opened, and I don't care.
