Even though it's a "chain" (meaning locations all over the country) each location is unique and bring its own charm and personality. When I discovered they had opened a new location in Austin at the Domain, I could not wait to make the trek up to North Austin to try it. I have tried Maggiano's in Atlanta and San Jose and it has never ever disappointed. The servings are huge, the decor is beautiful and best of all the service is stellar. Perfect spot for romantic dates, big family gatherings, or just a quick bite and beer in their huge bar area.
by Jessica S. on So, my friends and I wanted to shake our tushies...LOL, and we couldn't find anywhere we could agree on. Then we finally decided to go here. I was so much fun. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that there were really sexy men shaking their sweet asses in our faces and they were not hardly interested in us. Anyway, the drinks were awesome and so was the music. Actually the music was really good. I can't wait to go again.
by Giovanni Remme on I've never really been into clubs, but I was always up for it if a group of my friends was set on going. I went to Compound 3 or 4 times, and it transformed my dislike of clubs into pure hatred and was the catalyst for my self-made vow to not go clubbing again. The whole 40-year-old-dude-grinding-up-on-you-from-behind-wh ile-beads-of-his-sweat-fall-into-your-hair-as-you- become-nauseated-by-an-overwhelming-wave-of-cheap- cologne thing just doesn't appeal to me on a Saturday night. The two stars I'm giving Compound are for it's size - because it was so huge, I was able to escape the involuntary grinding fairly quickly. It's so spread out that you will lose the group you came with if you don't stay together. Anyways, what really turned me off about this place was the crowd. Some people have called it "diverse", but I beg to differ. I felt very out of place and didn't see a variety of people there at all. I'll admit that I don't think I could ever give any club 5 stars, but this one was sketchier than most. The lines were really long every time I went, and the cover was always high. I don't know if they've re-opened, and I don't care.
