supperclub is so cool that they don't even capitalize the S. I came here for dinner on New Year's Eve and although the food was tasty, it wasn't memorable. What really made for a fantastic new year's eve was the creative director, III, and his team. The night started out with me and my guy getting glitterflied by a tranny in a sequined dress. Loves it. We were seated at a small two top practically in the center of the floor. Next, a woman with the most amazing body walked by our table and I totally did a double take because Mizz V (no, that's not me), wasn't really a Ms. But boy (literally) oh boy, did she have the most amazing body -- she was petite and very slim. I would have probably pouted all night, berating myself for not hitting the gym -- until we got our individual bottles of champagne which I would later consume as the new year commenced. I have to say that Supperclub, I mean supperclub, is really something else. The creative energy is bursting and has a unique San Francisco vibe. III, not Three, or tres, or 3, but III is the creative director and he completely stole the show. His art is something beyond that. One of the things he is known for is his double simultaneous performance. He doesn't have a twin or a stunt double -- You see, this is real creativity. III records his performances ahead of time and then in real time, performs with himself. His performance was spectacular - the only thing is that he was only up there for 10 minutes which was not enough! I am dying for some more innovative performances from him. I understand that supperclub can be a little expensive, but it is so worth it to check them out especially when they do "art attack" which happens once every Thursday. Cover is only $5 for a night full of danceable beats, fun performances and lots of creative energy. I'm trying to be more creative as well. I think I'm going to go by vanessa. Not Vanessa. vanessa.

I tried this great restaurant for lunch this past week (restaurant week - otherwise, it's only open for dinner). It was a flavor infused punch in the face. We started off with a 4 salad combo and hummus. I really liked the okra (to my surprise). The hummus was creamy and the bread delicious. Then, I had the fried cauliflower with mint sauce. Truth be told, I could have had this for the entire meal! It was total perfection, the mint sauce complimented it nicely. For my main dish, I had the grilled eggplant. It was soaked in pomegranate (be prepared, it's incredibly sweet - not what I was expecting). I finished with the chocolate/toffee dessert. I will definitely return!

Think Paris, circa 1940 - beautiful antique furnishings, rich colors, plush velvet arm chairs and couches, an ornate chandelier, dark nooks and crannies...the ambiance and decor is exquisite. I really love this place. It's a restaurant until 10pm, when they clear out the tables and bring in a DJ. The front door is surrounded by green ivy (and invisible signs that read: No admittance for the ugly or unfashionable). You then enter the patio area, which feels covered, oddly enough. It's dimly lit with a rod iron fireplace and its own bar. This inside area is BIG...which is so refreshing. Most Hollywood lounges are the size of a matchbox and congested as all hell. There's a circular couch in the middle of the room (which, on a tangent, happens to be the very spot that I lost my blackberry - curse on the bastard who stole it!) and benches along the walls. Off to the side, there's a cozy, dark "library" room with overstuffed couches. The back room has a long bar and leather booths that run along the wall. This place is super classy, super luxe...almost making you forget that you're in the heart of Hollywood.
