I came here on a Thursday night after a recommendation for a friend. We showed up fairly early (around 10) and getting in was no problem. I got the impression that later on in the night, they might have been a bit more strict, but it never really got "full." I understand that on Fridays/Saturdays its a completely different picture. The vibe inside is pretty cool, but I was surprised how small the venue is. The dancefloor itself is probably only 30'x30' or so. There are a number of tables upstairs and downstairs, which can give it a more of a lounge/club hybrid feeling. I loved the theme, which is kind of goth-like, but in a classy nightclub sort of way. It's got some sort of bizzare artwork on the walls. All the lights are redish-orange and the supports are steel and riveted -- very cool. I danced a bit, but mostly just enjoyed chilling on the couches and having some good drinks. The drinks actually weren't too expensive, which was nice -- about $12 for a beer and pineapple fruity drink for my lady friend. I was surprised, though, that they couldn't make a mojito, which seems to have become a pretty standard drink at a nightclub. Regarding the comments about the bouncers, I, personally, thought they were fine. The bouncers in the front were a little bit "club persona", but still courteous. The bouncer we talked with a bit at the back entrance was super nice and made us want to come back again soon. All in all, it was a cool experience and I'm glad to have added Harlot to my list of places I've been to in SF.

I was here with some friends for a private party but I really enjoyed the look and feel inside. The bartender was also very quick and friendly and made us a lot of good shots. I would definitely come back for a drink with friends if in the area.

I went to see the Delfeayo Marsalis at the Blue Note. Simply put, it was one of the best musical experience of my life. The host was nice enough for me to have a bar transfer, and the waitress even watched my stuff when I was chatting with Delfeayo in the resting area. The performance was paying tribute to Elvin Jones. It's nice to see a rare Delfeayo performance nice, especially when it was accompany by Jason Marsalis, VIctor Atkins, Mark Shim, Mark Gross & Ivan Taylor. I will definitely go see another Delfeayo performance and return to the Blue Note when I go to the Big Apple next time.
