by Alex M. on I visited Slide to celebrate my birthday on a Friday with a group of 18... I will forever be a fan of Slide after that evening!! It was just an all-round good time. We rented a limo for the night, which may have helped with the situation at the door, but the line was short and we basically didn't have to wait at all outside. The slide was open and I figured I'd do it to get the full experience. It was a bit anti-climactic after all the talk about it, but still a pretty unique addition to a club. As others have mentioned, girls aren't allowed down the slide without pants. The club was pretty awesome. Good male/female ratio and not too crowded but very lively. The "Designer DJs" were spinning that night, which I gather are not super well known so the vibe might be different on other nights. The music was mostly house mashups, which was a lot of fun to dance to... I'm sort of a big house music fan. As I recall, the drinks were pretty average both in price and selection... but who really goes to a club for the drinks anyways? All in all, it was a blast!
by Jordan P. on I REALLY want to like this place, but it's just too damn difficult to get a glass of wine. I've been here twice now. Neither time have I been promptly greeted after sitting down. It's always a matter of chasing a server down, or heading up to the bar, waiting and hoping I'll be acknowledged. I do like the space, the chill, low-key atmosphere, and how it offers a welcome break from the craziness and noise of other bars in the neighborhood. But, if I go to a wine bar, I want the ability to get a glass of wine, easily -- or at least some service -- rather than just sitting 10 minutes at a table, waiting, being ignored. Until they get the service aspect down, I'll happily stick with Hotel Biron, Yield, Press Club and the many other great wine bar options around town.
by Noemi Castleton on Oh hells yes! Everyone is old like me, the music is great, and you can actually park in this neighborhood! For the first time in ages, I went out dancing didn't get tired/bored/annoyed until almost 2am. And you just have to love the people watching.
