by Samual Ledenbach on 5 stars for the music! (came on a Saturday) I need good hardcore hip-hop/rap with a good beat, none of that techno or retro crap, and not pop-oriented either. I had one of the BEST times clubbing in the city here because the music was AWESOME!! 2-3 stars for the crowd/atmosphere. The beds are a little shady, the drinks & cover overpriced, and the crowd mixed. Let me just say my friend and I were the ONLY asians in the club. There were a lot of random older couples, but hey, they looked like they were having a good time! Seriously though.. if you like good hip hop (hot 97 type music) and really value good music like that, as long as you bring a good crowd of your friends that you like clubbing with, I guarantee a good time.
by Freddy S. on Came from LA to visit friends they took me here just to go and chill. It was a cool spot, really differ from LA, but the music was good. I think I saw Afrolicious I don't remember because i was already pretty wasted when I came in. Good house dancers there I love that style since I'm a hip hop dancer. Overall a cool place to chill, listen to music, and have a few drinks!
by Douglass Lofthouse on I live in the Atlanta area and have been to the Aquarium a total of three times. My final conclusion - this is a great example of an extremely poorly designed and thought out facility. Ok, so we have Whale Sharks because the uber-billionaire who donated the money (Bernie Marks) wanted pet Whale Sharks in a tank that has 6-8 million gallons of water so it could be billed as "the worlds largest Aquarium". We have Beluga Whales which are fun to watch. So, what's left? What's left are narrow hallways entering exhibit areas, that lead to tiny port windows on the secondary exhibits, with 40 people trying to crowd around an area large enough for 6 people to view at a time. We won't even talk about the number of animals that have died so far in the short time the place has been open. That's for another topic I guess, but the track record is starting to get less than stellar. Maybe it's the water quality - it's a LOT murkier now than it was upon opening (are they cutting back on the filters to save money, or what?). People bring in baby strollers by the dozen that are the size of some European cars, filled with 5 days worth of food and water rations - yet there are no rules that forbid this, so, they clog up many areas. There are few employees around trying to shuffle people, and folks will camp for up to 30 minutes at a time with their kiddies in front of a viewing port, while others wait... and wait....and wait. Oh, look - Otters! Oh, look, the viewing area has enough room for maybe 12 people and there are 212 people in the room! Yippie! Can't wait to see what it'll be like when the new Dolphin area opens in two years. Hungry? How about a plain hot dog and a plain burger with two drinks for $22.00? You'll have to eat standing up though - as the seating area is about half the size it should be for the crowds. Guys - have to pee? How about waiting in a bathroom in the "worlds largest Aquarium" that only has 5 urinals, with 50 guys waiting for one? Yippieeeee! My conclusion? It's MUCH more worth it to drive two hours North to Chattanooga, to THEIR Aquarium. Better crowd control and flow. More interactive and habitat-style exhibits. Unless I have friends in town who drag me by force to show them the place, I know I'll never go again.
