by Trina H. on After visiting the 6th St. Whole Foods Market in Austin, I immediately recognized it's layout as the same one from home that was recently opened (aka Lover's Lane location). This fact alone, made me happy. Ending my husband's 29th birthday celebration here was also the greatest. I adore Whole Foods Market and standing in the city and store where it all started was absolutely awesome. Everyone in Whole Foods was helpful, funny, polite and just made you feel all warm 'n fuzzy inside. We had a hard time deciding on what to have for dinner. So many choices! All fresh and tasty, I was wondering if they carried drool buckets. Finally, we decided on the pizza. The pizza was great, 4 fresh cheeses, fresh crust and sauce... NOM! I love eating and not worrying about all the bad stuff that goes into your body. My Kid loved his dinner, no problems with having him eat it one bit. Then again, it was pizza. For dessert, we ordered 3 cupcakes, in lieu of a big ol' cake for just 3 people. We were pooped and ready to head back to our hotel to rest, cupcakes in tow. We arrived to our room, sang the Happy Birthday song and dug in. I do not remember what my husband had, but the I had gotten a vegan cupcake and it was pretty decent. The frosting was TOO sweet, so I put that aside and nibbled at the cake. Kid got the chocolate cupcake, but it was too sweet and he finished off my vegan cupcake (I swear, this kid is a natural born vegan/vegetarian). This Whole Foods in Austin was a good experience, definitely confirmed my strong belief that Whole Foods (and Austin!) is just pure awesomeness.
by Cassie Delafuente on The dinner here is great everytime, the service is unbeatable, and the comedy is always spot on! Hollywood improv is so much better than Brea or Irvine! We love it!
by Brigid Nemet on Although I arrived at midnight, I was still charged a $10 cover -- what's that all about? I was the only person in line! You don't charge a cover when there's no one in line! Well, Busby's does. There were a decent amount of people there for a Saturday night, but not so many that you couldn't find a table to sit at in the bar area. As soon as you got thirsty, you were able to get to the bar and leave with your drink in hand in under two minutes. Since the pool tables were crowded, we alternated between the bar area and the dance floor. Suprisingly, the douche-ratio was remarkably low at Busby's. I only saw my female companions get freaked by douches a handful of times, and even then they were understandably drunk. My main gripe with this place was that they started yelling at us at 1:35 to start leaving, although they have a 2:00 closing time posted on their website. After we survived the cattle drive out the door, we all found ourselves out on the unusually chilly (for a SoCal December) sidewalk at 1:50 -- 10 minutes too early.
