by T. F. on I had my birthday here and I would not come to this club WITHOUT renting a VIP booth. I was lucky enough to get a spot on the mezzanine, so I did not have my booth next to the dance floor, but on top of an elevated platform above the heat and closeness of the dancing masses. A bottle was included with the booth and my party enjoyed the Grey Goose birthday shots! I had visited the club during the daytime to scope out my seating arrangement and I saw holes in the sofas. I could not figure out where these perfectly circular holes had come from and was slightly disappointed to see the VIP section in such a state. But alas! When I was good and tipsy I realized that the holes came from the fashionable stilettos of women who were just like me: having a good time at the velvet room, sippin drinks in VIP.......and then we proceed to dance on the sofas in our heels!! Other than that, everything was great!! This place got really packed and we had to wait until the place was almost empty to get out of VIP. I'd do it all again too!
by Janie Elkins on 5 stars for the music! (came on a Saturday) I need good hardcore hip-hop/rap with a good beat, none of that techno or retro crap, and not pop-oriented either. I had one of the BEST times clubbing in the city here because the music was AWESOME!! 2-3 stars for the crowd/atmosphere. The beds are a little shady, the drinks & cover overpriced, and the crowd mixed. Let me just say my friend and I were the ONLY asians in the club. There were a lot of random older couples, but hey, they looked like they were having a good time! Seriously though.. if you like good hip hop (hot 97 type music) and really value good music like that, as long as you bring a good crowd of your friends that you like clubbing with, I guarantee a good time.
by Nikita Ratti on As many of the posted messages found on this site that go on and on about how wonderful Morimoto is and their service, if not for my last visit I would have been producing another carbon copy of praises to this restaurant. Please see order of events below: Starting Chronometer: 0 minutes, 0 hours Arrived and promptly seated; 15 minutes, 0 hours Waiter arrives and takes beverage order and delivers drinks. 20 minutes, 0 hours Okamase is ordered for everyone 5 minutes, 1 hour First dish arrive 45 minutes, 1 hour Second dish arrives. We speak with waiter about the delay in dishes. He apologizes and says he will take care of it. 35 minutes, 2 hours Third dish arrives. Crowd is getting restless at the table. TOO MANY MINUTES, TOO MANY HOURS I cannot continue to place them exactly from here on the exact timing that they took to serve us. The total meal time was about four hours. I am not kidding and it was not funny. You would think that we had a huge party at our table but we were only three individuals. THE EXCUSE: a large party had arrived and they were having a hard time keeping up. MY THOUGHTS: they arrived about 45 minutes to and hour into our disastrous meal when we were already experiencing difficulties with the service. Additionally, their problem not mine!!! The waiter was even hard to find at some times. I was flabbergasted since this was one of the first times in Morimoto for one of my friends at the table. Previously that same day I had complimented the restaurant and their service many times. I now officially looked like a Jack Ass!!! The only reason that I do not give Morimoto a lower score is because every dish tasted absolutely divine and I cannot take that away from the restaurant. We spoke with the manager and the waiter multiple times and their responses were poor and uncaring. I used to be a big fan, but this Jack Ass will have a hard time to recover from the mortal would inflicted that night by this experience.
