by Renee C. on i normally don't go to places like marquee (makes me feel poor), but when my friend came to visit from cali and her friend had a friend who could get us into marquee with no problems, i was sold. after some EXTENSIVE pre-partying, we arrived at marquee around midnight and even though there was a huge snaking line out front, we were all ushered in right away. score! from the little that i can actually remember, the venue was classy and quite large, with house music on the bottom level and hip hop on the top. after hanging out on the first floor for a bit, the lights started taking on this crazy strobe light effect and i honestly thought i would have a seizure right then and there. so we headed up to the second level and shook our groove thangs to some hip hop for a while before i almost passed out and had to leave. marquee is fun fun fun!
by Royce Skogen on i went to the cool kids show here last sunday and it was a pretty decent venue for a show. we were up near the front so i dont know how it was watching from the back.. probably sucked but i dont know. i gave it 4 stars because we didnt drink there, seemed a bit pricey. but they also had some tables to sit and eat at during the show, i know you had to spend $20 a person at least to be seated there. i guess if you want to be smug then you can, but i dont know if id want to sit and eat while watching a show, so we didnt do that either. buuut overall id definitely come back if a band i liked was playing again here, no complaints, pretty sick venue.
