Love the decor, the red lights, and the burlesque show. What fabulous, fierce, fit women! I could stare at them all day. Nice bartenders, too. And stiff drinks.

I am still trying to back track all the restaurants I have been to since I came to Atlanta. Front Page News has nice inviting atmosphere due to its spacious outdoor sitting with stone fountain in the middle of it. Under entering the restaurant, I was slightly surprised that it looked better than it older exterior architecture. I came here with a co-worker from San Francisco and we were both staying hotels down the block. I started with others of crabcake and hummus with warmed pita for appetizers. They were both pretty good. I think I enjoyed the hummus more than the crap cake. My entree was the Surf and Turf. The New York Strip steak was medium just like I asked. It is very important to note that you don't always get what you ask for when it comes to how your steak is done so I am always impressed when I get it done correctly. The highlight of this meal was definitely the shrimp kabobs. The shrimp was on point and grilled to the right tenderness. The shrimps were definitely tasty and seeing that they were just grilled shrimps. I was impressed. The food probably deserved 3.5 stars and I kicked it up to 4 because it was cool to chill outside and have drinks after dinner too.

First I bash Eats, and now this.... Are there any other "Atlanta Institutions" that I can go after? I love grease, give me a funnel. But even the grease doesn't make the grade here. The dogs suck. You can give me a Kroger brand frank boiled in Chattahoochee River water, and that would be a better fate. Joey Chestnut would become a mere hot dog eating mortal trying to choke down one of these things. In college, places like Eats and The Varsity are acceptable because you are broke and pretty much...drunk. But then you become a little older...a little wiser...and realize that even though you are still drunk (and possibly still broke), there are better places to eat.
