Oh wowza wowza wowza ... shazam! The plan was to go to Capogiro Gelato somewhere in downtown Philly after lunch last Saturday, but we were seriously delayed and I was seriously disappointed. But then, after dinner by UPenn, my friends were leaving and I was waiting to be picked up. And out of the blue, right below my restaurant for dinner, was Capogiro Gelato! And even though we were full, one of my friends and I decided to step in. And it was like stepping into dessert paradise. There are tons of different flavours, all with an artisanal vibe to them -- maybe it's the Italian names they give them, maybe it's the font they use on the tags with just the right amount of cursiveness. W/e. All you need to know is that THEY ARE DELICIOUS. It's like melt-in-your-mouth gelato. It's to die for. I'm not a big fan of fruity flavours, so I ordered the Turkish coffee, sea salt, and pistachio flavours. I think they change daily ... Sea salt was surprisingly good -- the salt wasn't overpowering whatsoever. I also sampled the Thai Coconut Milk, which was like sea salt but too sweet, and the chocolate and banana, which was a little 'off.' But with so many flavours, how could you go wrong? My only complaint -- what prevents it from being a 5-star cafe -- is that it melts fairly quickly. I guess good gelato does that, so maybe you should order a small instead of a medium =] One other thing -- it gets REALLY BUSY at night, so be prepared to take it and leave or to wait a while for a seat! Wowza I would go back to Philly for this place again ...

Me and my girls were planning to have a pretty early night, dance off dinner and be okay to work Sunday morning. Got into the club around 11, and unbeknownst to us, were in for an hour of standing around in club purgatory, with ridiculous music playing. The actually clubbing doesn't begin until midnight. The crowd was cool, drinks were good, and the dance floor amazing, but the music was unreliable and we left around 12:30. Feeling pretty "meh" about the whole experience. Now, I don't go out enough to know if this "pre-club" thing is common at other places, but I just feel like esso wasted an hour of my time.

One would consider me a foodie. If there is anything I love to do, it is dining out. I have eaten at Prana quite a few times, and even take out some food from there when I want a quiet evening of fine food and relaxation at home....not once have I ever been disappointed. each dish I have tried from the Ginger Prawns with the Soba Noodles, to the Lamb Shank, to the Scallops, to the Carpaccio.....I could go on an d on....WOW! NIRVANA would be an appropriate name for this restaurant just because of how you feel after eating there! The staff without a doubt are friendly and very knowledgeable of the menus and the wines/drinks...they have really taken things to another level when it comes to a restaurant/lounge/nightclub environment. It has not been done this way before, ever, and they definitely pull it off with class and the right dose of being super hip!....Whether you want to dance the night away right after dining, or just get into a food coma back at your pad, you will definitely have taken the path of Nirvana....because of Prana!....LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!! xoxoxo....AND not to forget...THEY DO THINGS THE ECO-FRIENDLY. WAY... I tell you! Prana is not only super delicious, of high standards and truly very "with it"...Prana is also great for being considerate to the environment........:)
