We had a chance to visit Kokopelli for a rateclubs Elite event. Truthfully, the downstairs area is a little more my style than the upstairs dance party that I attended, so it was nice to see that Kokopelli has multiple sides. Downstairs, there is music but at a much quieter volume. Feels swanky without feeling overbearing. On a Friday night at 9 pm, it was only about half full. They have the all important coat check for this nasty cold weather. The upstairs bar & dance area is darker (and louder). Had a chance to sample their house margarita and various apps (bison sliders, the green chili cups & the chips/salsa. All were very good. I don't get a chance to eat in the city very often, but I'd definitely recommend this place.

I just tried Busby's though I have been living down the block for about a year and it was pretty nice. We went during happy hour (4-6pm) and the tab was still way less than I was expecting--2 Fat Tires, 2 champagnes, 2 plates of guacamole and 2 Jack on the Rocks for $33. The beer and well drinks (yea Jack Daniels!) were $3 a pop. The place was pretty much empty at 4:30pm, but I liked that. It was a good place to get a seat at the bar and chat with co-workers. Note: After happy hour, Busby's seems to get a lot ritzier and busier. Go before 6pm on a weeknight if you just want a cheap drink and a place to watch the game.

CROWDEDlikesuperferociouslycrowded + great music = a buzzed out pumped up crowd trying to get their fierce moves on but just ending up elbowing me in the face. Not cool. Alright so not everyone is short, but this place is very consistently packed..especially the bar, so prepare to bring your cleavage. Plus points for friendly speedy bartenders and coat check, though most of the credit goes to the DJ who is truly pimptastic. Various dance floor decor like plush seats, wall mirrors, and strategically placed structural support columns make this place fun too.
