Me like some "sugar in my bowl", "pour some sugar on me", ahh "sugar, sugar" has it all, all day, all night... and chill is what it oozes... Been going here since it opened, great spot. Always pleasantly-packed with locals, Europeans tourists, "club" members, business folks and myself... non-clique-y... so you never know what you will find there.  Sort of a "transformer" spot as it changes while the day progresses. By day, mild-manner modern "internet" cafe... By afternoon, mild-manner modern "internet" cafe with good bites... by night, super chill lounge... all with a great fireplace. In the morning, they have those great pastries... you know... the big gooey goodness kind which you can nosh on with a java chaser while lounging in a comfy chair, "rateclub"ing... Afternoon, tasty salads & sandwiches in a great "hip" setting. At night, a chill lounge where they show movies above the big front window, usually in a double mirrored effect, while chill beats are playing. "Ahh honey, honey... your my candy girl... and you got me wanting you..." I will leave you with this. The place is not for everyone... hard to explain... you will just have to try it out.

Swanky, Quiet, Card Table, Chocolates, Old school, velvety, decor...very nice lounge bar.  (It did kind of give off the feeling like it was a cover up for some high-end illegal activity...but it was part of the charm.) This place doesn't seem to be heavily advertised, but  you do not need to be a Russian Hill/ Nob Hill local to enjoy this very unique bar.

Our original plan was to go to Bastone, but since it was Sunday (Kiddie Night) the place was packed. Luckily Vinotecca was not too crowded so we were able to fit our group of seven of us in. The staff wasn't too helpful in accommodating our group so we almost left (they didn't seem too eager to push tables together). The service got better afterwards, but it was a little bit of a rough start. The atmosphere was really nice with a nice mix of people, old/young. Not any children as I guess can be expected. The food was outstanding - I order the seafood paella. Everyone commented on their dish being very good. I didn't order any wine, order the beer from the brewery - which was very good as usual.
