Probably one of my favorite restaurants. Everything I've ever had was great - fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, et al - all delicious. The only negative is that it might be a little small/loud for some but doesn't bother me too much. The staff is very professional and attentive - you know, the type that gets you all you need without being annoying.

This bar is so old-style and elegant.... love it. Last night I had drinks with my friends; we decided to meet each other at the Culver Hotel for a drink, just before the New Year. And it was delightful... both the company and the location. I feel like I am in a different era... did I step into the year 1940/1945 ? It makes me want to dress up while sipping my Cosmo :-) This place is a jewel in our modern, busy life.... I have been here before, but last night was a reminder of how wonderful this place is. We all arrived around 6PM and were told that Happy Hour lasted till 8PM; now that was enough to make us all smile.... Cocktails for half price ? We are game... So, soon we were sipping martini and cosmo's while seated on the sofas and comfortable chairs.... to complete the feast we ordered the excellent cheese plate (such a lovely presentation, many restaurants can learn something from this cheese selection) And since most of us are Dutch we had to order a big bowl of French Fries (yep, the Dutch officially consume more French Fries than their neighbour country Belgium, although the latter are always teasted that they do at so many fries ...) The fries were good; a mix of sweet potato, regular fries and I think even some casava fries... served with a platter of mayonnaisse (again: very Dutch, we dip our fries into the mayo...), ketchup and mustard. All in all... this place is lovely. Now, for those who want to be able to still have a conversation, to get a seat and actually hear what the person next to you has to say.. I would recommend: go during the week or early at night. On Fridays and during the weekends it tends to be crowded and that's not my thing... I like to indulge in the luxury of this hotel bar and just absorb it, let my imagination take me away while I look at the paintings... but hey, that's just me.

Oh, the life of a fruit fly has led me to strange and wonderful places, and the Cinch is one of them. The last time I was there they had a drag tribute to the ladies of country music. Rolicking good fun! (for the whole family!!!) Nothing like knocking back a cold one in the company of a 6-ft. Loretta Lynn with 5 o'clcok shadow. Very very strong cocktails. And they sneak up on ya.
