This place is not a lounge it is a club. The only thing "eco" about this place was the materials they used to build it. Otherwise everything else is all marketing and not very good marketing at that. the website is horrible. This is a smallish Hollywood club. The crowd is filled with the regular Hollywood douchbaggary, which is to be expected. The guy to girl ratio is horrible. The girls there are in general rather unattractive. Overall the place is pretty standard Hollywood fare if that's what you're going for.

The Phoenix is a bit of a mixed bag. It's *a little* grimey, but so am I sometimes, so I won't hold it against them. I've had a couple of AWESOME times here, both on a Thursday, for Elements, Boston/Cambridge's best and longest running drum and bass nights. The sound system here is good, and well balanced unlike another establishment across the street that also features some enjoyable music. On the other hand, I did have one completely crap night here; on the weekend they feature all too common, complete crap scene you can go ANYWHERE else for on a Friday or Saturday night: A few mainstream hip hop tracks, a few decent hits here and there, and "guilty pleasures". I think it was supposed to be 80's night, but the DJ didn't quite hold to the format. I survived until they played Journey. Then I hauled ass out of that meat market, vowing to never return aside from for Elements. *shudder*

Well... after going to Hiro a couple of times on Sunday nights ( http://www.myspace.com...), I had to sign up and write my first rateclubs review... This place blows my mind every time I go. The venue is amazing and unlike anything I've seen before. It is packed with friendly and beautiful people with no attitudes, and the music is great if you're into shaking your ass off. Yes the drinks are expensive, but the free cover makes up for it easily. I've done quite a bit of clubbing, especially in San Francisco, but this is much better than most places I've been to. I just can't wait to go again...
