Blah! I was disappointed by a mediocre happy hour on the terrace. Although it's relatively affordable compared to the "real" menu (select $6 drinks and apps), you really don't get much value for your money. The trio of duck fat french fries tasted like nothing more than McDonald's fries with a sprinkling of fancy seasonings, and the two tiny lobster corn dogs tasted like mushy imitation crab meat balls. My Bramble was ok, although on the weak side, as was the mojito. For a happy hour with nice stiff drinks and tasty food deals, you can definitely do better almost anywhere else in WeHo.

I've been to tenjune a few times since I have arrived in NYC. Coming from Barcelona for the past 5 months, and previous to that Los Angeles, London, and Chicago, I have to say that tenjune is very pleasing. When I'm looking to have a good time at a club, I want great music, a palatable crowd (not too snobby, but exclusive) and a comfortable atmosphere. In the summer heat, tenjune has the a/c pumping, a hot crowd (more on the weeknights than weekend) and fantastic music. I am picky about my music, but tenjune has a little bit of everything (eurotechno, house, hip hop, oldies, pop, top 40, etc). It is a small club, so it may not be the best place to meet people--i have always had a better time going in a small group and hanging out with my friends there rather than searching for the man of my night. I don't know about the bar, I have been at tables, but the champagne is delicious, as is the pink vodka. If you are looking hot, and in the mood for a simply enjoyable night out, I say hit up tenjune and don't forget to eyef*** the bouncer or you won't get in!

Smoke is great for those of us jazz fans who live on the UWS. The musicians are usually high caliber and the cover/drink minimums during the week are very reasonable. Don't go to Smoke to chat with your friends. They are pretty strict about not talking during the sets. I agree with the earlier comments about going during the week...you definitely get more for your money. The Eddie Henderson quartet plays at Smoke pretty regularly. I would recommend checking them out next time they play. Check the website for a full calendar.
