by Miranda W. on AVOID!!! RUN!!! Pretty much the same stuff others have been writing and I knew I shouldn't have gone but some friends wanted to check it out. Anyways, we waited for about 40 mins outside with the line moving only as people started to leave. Finally after letting in a couple in their mid 40's in, they look at my guy friend and me and said only I could get in and that he would have to leave. I just don't understand this at all, the place wasn't full, we were dressed well and the bouncer didn't even give us any options. It's not like "Hey you're free but guys need to pay a $20 cover". It was simply, go away. Please, please avoid!
by Zackary Oest on this place is like walking into a knick knack shop or a small town southern diner. the place is super tiny and charming! i think it can seat perhaps 10? this place is cash only peeps! carman is charming and her menu changes often. she experiments with different flavors and your palette will not be disappointed. do not deviate from the menu! seriously, follow her recommendations. i got the belgian waffles with mango. delicious! i wanted to lick my plate. and i can do this with little effort since i have a flat nose. :) carman comes out and says a hello or a morning to the customers. she cooks all the meals with tlc. the food is plentiful and makes you crave more. the coffee is as bold as their sign which reads they put the c*nt in country. need i say more? :)
by JO' G. on You walk in to this tiny, crowded corner rowhouse fitted with an old-timey curvy countertop and a random assortment of two-person tables with patio chairs. Sooooooooo much to look at and listen to (colors, art, kerchiefs, a wonderfully eclectic cast of servers and customers), it takes a while to find the blackboard menu at the center of it all...but once you do....WHOA! BRUNCH!! (And it's different every day!) On this day: 1. pan fried cod with brussel sprouts, fried eggs, hash browns, chicken/mushroom sausage from Martin's (fresh from the market at the center of town) 2. waffles with strawberries and coconut and M&Ms and ricotta mixed right in 3. challah bread French toast with pear/almond/ginger sauce We loved it all. We guzzled coffee, and tried not to knock over other customers with our overly-animated eating. And we congratulated ourselves over and over again for remembering to call ahead.
