My birthday landed on a Tuesday this year and while not many of MY friends could go out with me on a work night, I was able to find 2 to drag out with me. We started at Cha Cha Lounge which was weak and had heard good things about G&D for Tuesdays so we rolled over. I was with one guy and another girl plus it being my bday we didnt have an issue getting inside even though the door was jam-packed and no real "line" or order was in place. No cover for Hwood is unheard of but a welcomed surprise! The inside was way smaller than I thought it would be and even with the mirrored wall I felt claustrophobic. The bottle booths lined both sides of the walls and people were standing/dancing, having a great time but for those who did not get bottle service, there really is nowhere to hang out! We ended up on the "dance floor" most of the night. I say that in parenthesis because there really was just a 5 foot by 5 foot area in front of the DJ booth dedicated to dancing. I think they figured they allow standing and dancing on furniture and they appear to cater only to the bottle service clientele so it was a good enough space to weed out the "others". Trying to take a break from dancing to catch some air was IMPOSSIBLE! They just have an enclosed, heated patio with a fireplace...couldn't get away from the heat so we continued to dance! Not the place for meeting new people: everyone is in their own groups and mostly DBs there ladies!...although two celeb sightings made my birthday here: Mark Salling ("Puck" from Glee) and Chris Klein (played "Dusty" in the movie Just Friends) I'd go back again if I got a large group together for bottle service!

I went to this place on a Wednesday, so it wasn't as busy as it is supposed to be (so I've heard). The set up was pretty cool and the atmosphere was chill; we weren't in the main room that is shown on the website, but we were seated on a huge white bed-couch thing with tables in the middle - it was really comfortable....but for those of you with funky feet or ugly socks beware!! - you gotta take your shoes off! Because we attended on a Wednesday, we didn't get to view the major the shows they are so famous for putting on. Instead we got a contortionist doing all types of crazy poses and a masseur who offered massages. The food was okay - I got the vegetarian dish and everyone else's food was from a prefixed menu - I like to know what I am eating and by the way things were arranged it was very difficult to determine what was in the dishes, so the host filled us in. Everyone makes a big deal about how some of the dishes are plated in dog bowls - I don't really think that it made or broke the experience. I have seen way clever plating at other restaurants. I would go back to see what it is really like on a big night - we did have a great time, but I think we would have had more options if we went on a Friday or Saturday.

You come here to dance, listen to awesome house music, and chill with your friends. Dont come here if you wanna hit on lotsa different people and think you can buy them a drink and go home with them. Its too small of a club and intimate for that. That is all.
