As others have mentioned- avoid weekends at Icon. It gets so packed in this smallish space you can barely sip your $$ cocktail. But for interesting Bay Area hip hop nights- this SOMA club actually lives up on Thursdays. I'll be back to give it another chance but probably not on a Saturday.

i made it here for DAT after an AAPI Obama rally held upstairs at Prive and had mixed results. the cauliflower soup had a nice peppery kick topped with aged balsamic and bits of curry crab. nice starter. the main course disappointed the skirt steak was tough to the point of being inedible. the creme brulee to finish was very tasty. my dining companion had the hawaiian waloo over cannellini beans in a tasty broth. waloo is a creamy oily fish and does not need to be cooked very long. in fact, i have had waloo as sushi many times. execution on this fish dish was very good. suggest you order it rare to medium rare. the atmosphere is sophisticated and subtle.
