The above reviews cannot possibly be for the Cat's Meow in New Orleans at 701 Bourbon Street. They do not and have never offered bottle service, do not and have never offered food, and do not have a pool table, though about 15 years ago there was one upstairs I think.

After waiting in line for about 45 minutes trying to get downstairs in to the "club", I've seen countless faces of all ranks and status get turned away. The few people that did get in were there for a party or promised to get bottle service. The bouncers are friendly but they are extremely selective about who goes in. Most places just turn away guys, these guys didn't even let the ladies in. I finally got in after chatting a few of them up for a while. But I have to admit, this was way too much to put in just so one can go downstairs and drink their over priced drinks. The crowd as expected was filled with trust fund kids and young professionals. I explored for about an hour, checked out most the ladies and decided there was nothing left for me there a hundred bucks later and walked out. At least the subway is near by.

Happy hour until 9 pm with 3 dollar draught beer and free snacks... Need I go on? The crowd here is diverse. There was this tiny old lady who appeared to pretty much OWN the pool table, which I thought was awesome. I love bars with patios and the backyard is huge with ample seating. All in all....I had a wonderful time here and can't wait to go back.

I would give it a three, but the price just kills it. I've been there twice and each time was a minor disappointment. I got the turkey burger, fiance got a chicken sandwich, and we split a "basket" of sweet potato fries. Their "basket" is extremely small - even if served in a mini shopping cart. The turkey burger falls apart easily and is sort of dry. The killer here is the price. This meal comes to $30 with tip. That is pretty hefty cost for a burger and splitting a medium order of fries. They do have a nice beer list and the cupcakes that are made next door and served as a dessert here are delicious but this doesn't outweigh the high cost, low amount fries, and the awful conversations you have to put up with (this is a personal view, and why I don't live in scottsdale). I'd recommend checking out Soma Cafe for a better burger + sweet potato fries.
