Stayed here on my recent trip to Hollywood. The building itself is great. The pool is beautiful and so was the lounge. We booked the cabana room, and was a little disappointed. The room is small and dimly lit. I was expecting a little more amenities for what we paid for. The front desk staff was nice, but the concierge was SO rude. I called and asked for some recommendation for some good nightclubs, and she was like I don't know if I can get you into any clubs, LA clubs are SO hard to get into, she then proceeded to ask how many girls I was going to be with. I told her 3 girls and she was like well I'll TRY to see to get you guys on a list but don't expect anything. She also said we would not be able to get into the nightclub Teddy's (which is in the hotel) unless we get bottle service. When Teddy's opened we decided to go and they let us right in, without bottle service. All in all the place is okay, just dont ask the concierge anything she was rude and helpful whatsoever.

3 stars for the outside patio cause I'm a smoker. The patio is very big and nice. The dance floor inside is allllright. Music is okkkkkkkay on some nights but I wish they would quit it with the raving tracks. Too many slutty girls and horny guys. Oh, btw..I'm only speaking of Friday nights. Friday nights = Asian nights. ***imagine all the Asians you use to see/hang out with/ make fun of at raves....take off their pacifiers, visors and beads...put them in a box and unleash them into a venue = Vanguard...***

Can be a great value - sometimes less than $160 and often you can get upgraded. I paid $159 and was put into a $400 cabana room when Amanda Demme was packing in the celebs at the pool. Even without the upgrade, the rooms are great. Site of the first Academy Awards.
