by lena n. on this was our 2nd choice, when we got there, it was a huge line and it was NOT moving at all. a friend got to the front and said they were not letting nobody in at all. and there was another line and they were letting them in first, im guessing the vip bottle service people. yet we waited about 30 mins, and it never moved at all. we heard people coming out of there saying it was a waste of time and that it sucked. well i'm never coming back here again due to not letting nobody in after waiting in line, it was so stupid.
by Dwayne A. on It's Salsa Sundays, y'all! I don't make it here enough -- I wish I could spend every Sunday afternoon here. Luckily it's in my neighborhood! So, the cover is $8, the margaritas are $6 (I think a little steep)...but the vibe is priceless. Picture a mix of sexual orientations, ages, colors, salsa ability levels, all dancing and reveling together on an intimate little deck and concrete patio with a great salsa band...and you're there! I have been dancing for about a year -- and I always leave feeling exhausted and yet energized and uplifted at the same time! Lessons early, I believe 3ish. Stays pretty quiet until the band kicks up after 4, and gets progressively more festive and boisterous as the afternoon flows on. And there's a raffle!! Disclaimers: Drink line can wax excruciatingly long at peak times. Patio can become difficult to dance on due to crowds of happy people. But at that point, you're happy too, and it's Sunday, so who cares?
by Rubin Primus on My wife and I have been here twice. The first time was a fantastic dining experience, worthy of a 5-star rating. The second time wasn't up to that level, but was still very good. She, being the one who likes shellfish, went for the omakase both times. Everything I nibbled was really good (including the paired drinks). I have gone with the 10-hour pork, which is phenomenal but just too small, and random noodle dishes. The desserts have been really good, but the sushi has not been up to my expectations, what with Chef coming from Nobu and all. It's good, but not as good as I've had at Nobu, either in NYC or in London, where the idea of eating sushi of any lower quality is just disheartening. (Granted, I've never been to Japan, so I may still be deluding myself.) The servers have always been knowledgeable and friendly. Maybe next time, we'll go to the sushi bar to try that out, once I hear their fish quality has improved.
