by Tom L. on I went last night with friend, my girlfriend and a couple of her friends. I think this place has a lot of potential. The ambiance was nice, the staff was good looking and it got pretty busy a little later on. They had a nice front area where we could smoke or hang out. It was great to get away from the loud music every now and then AND there was no cover. The DJ was good and they had 2 really hot gogo dancers and they were both really great to watch. But one of them danced like she was in a strip club and she kept on flashing her ass and she had a thong on. Sexy as hell and it would have been great if I was in a bikini bar or strip club with my boys, but it made my girl and HER girls uneasy--which made it awkward. I wanted to stay cause I was having fun and dancing and drinking. but we left cause they didn't like it. one of her friends even said, "Let's go before she starts taking her clothes off." Maybe she was new to the place? The other gogo girl was a really great dancer and very energetic and more appropriate for the kind of club this place probably wants to be. It seemed like she was having a lot of fun and was very engaging to watch. The bartender(s) were really nice and super attentive and the service was great in general. The crowd was a nice mix of people. I'm definitely going back and hoping to make it a regular spot. I can't stand having to drive to Hollywood all the time!
by Carina Middleton on Miami meets Midtown Manhattan. Great to go with a group of girls, because that's the only way you're getting in or remotely going to have fun at this place. We even had the doorman question whether my friend's girlfriend "knew" our group, which is pretty disconcerting when you know you're going to drop bills at a place and you're made to feel like a bunch of schmucks. Though I've heard great things about other locations, Nikki Midtown just didn't do it for me.
by Anne D. on It's been 4 years since my last visit to Little Baobab. I spent my 30th birthday there in a ginger infused fog dancing the night away. Upon my arrival last night I saw many of the same faces and a few new ones. The drinks are better than ever and the dancing just as fun. I always meet sweet genuine people there and leave with a sense of happiness. Little Baobab is one of those rare little gems in this city that I hope has lasting staying power.
