by Loyd Bunner on The restaurant at Yoshi's SF is very dependable. The food is never bad and there are some really good rolls. I personally can't get enough of the garlic soy edamame. I'd give the restaurant three stars, maybe three and a half for the convenience of having the restaurant on site at the club - only one place to park which is a major plus in SF. As for the jazz club, I haven't been to a venue this intimate where you can reserve your seat and have a constant flow of food and drinks right to your table. I wouldn't recommend sitting in the front row - it may sound like a good idea to sit right next to the performers, but your ears will not be happy. Take a seat in the second row of tables near the middle - you'll still be very close the performers but you'll have a much better musical experience. Five stars. A bit of math and... Four stars!
by natasha s. on I came about 20 deep on Saturday night. I would say that the crowd was mature and there was a positive energy afloat. The downfall..... the DJ was a bit wack and wouldn't sway from the high energy music -- if we could have at least gotten the top ten songs in the mix at some point during the night then I would have absolutely no qualms. I was the birthday girl and was in good company - my night was fabulous.
