Anja/Buddha Bar whatever you want to call it - I like it. Its a beautiful space and I great place to go with a group (you can all share that way). side note: The drinks are delicious so don't be shy to just sit in the bar! This place has gone through some changes and I haven't eaten there since the shuffle.. so no updates on food. One thing you can be sure of is a trendy space and a $15 cocktail. If you're not up for that try elsewhere.

Each weekend we dutifully traipse from the shittiest dives to the trendiest velvet ropes in search of a spot where everybody knows your name - but forgets it by morning. This isn't really on my list of places to go. For happy hour it can be an OK spot (drinks are 2 for 1) and you can find a nice trendy couch to sit and hang out with your friends if you get there early enough. The space itself is well lit and has the modern lounge vibe that you come to expect with such places. HOWEVER, unless its a special event at night, this crowd sucks, its crowded and its not all that much fun...perhaps its because of its location close to Union Square that attracts the wrong crowd. Dance floor is kinda small and not really useful either. If you get caught here and aren't enjoying yourself run to Cantina around the corner. Plenty of better spots in SF for dancing or grabbing a drink but i guess this can do in the right situation...2.5 stars

So Disappointing. The food was tasty, but DAMN expensive for the teeny tiny itty bitty plates. (Four people, six drinks between us and approximately 10 LITTLE plates = $176.00) The desserts were odd, and not very flavorful. And the drinks were crap. The bartender was so lazy he didn't even muddle the mint for the mojito, he just threw the leaves in the glass and poured rum on it. The server, Katherin, completely ignored us after the tiny plates were served. We had to flag down bussers and expediters for drinks, the dessert menu, and the check. Our water glasses were empty for the entire last half of the meal, and when our server finally brought the check with our credit card receipt, she didn't leave a pen to sign it. I know those things are minor, but piling them on top of everything else made them just irritating. I won't go back to Medjool. With all the amazing restaurants in San Francisco, there's no reason for me to put myself through that again.
