My boyfriend and I were in Philly for the day and decided we wanted to wanted to try some real Philly cheesesteaks. We live in San Francisco and heard about the rivalry, so decided we needed to try both Geno's and Pat's. Short answer, Geno's was better. Geno's was all around the more flavorful cheesesteak. The bread tasted fresher, the steak was more flavorful and so was the wiz.... However, I didn't appreciate the awkward pro america (borderline racist) paraphernalia - I would actually refrain from bringing people here because of it. The building is..interesting, I didn't mind the orange paint but the sign with flames is gaudy. I would rate the food at 3.5, but the experience they provide made me round their score up to a 4. Bottom line: Tasted better than Pat's, fun experience, good cheesesteak. I can get an equally good, if not better tasting cheesesteak at home in California so if you don't like Geno's cheesesteak it's not the end of the world, it's more about the experience.

HORRIBLE club. I would NEVER step foot inside there again! Started off the night by arriving early as we were told to be there by 10 PM in order to avoid problems with getting in and what not. Got there on time just to wait outside like a herd of cattle behind the gates where the promoters were standing on the opposite side guarding the doors as if were about to walk into the most amazing club in Hollywood (NOT even close). We finally got in around 10:50 after they were done putting on a show to make the club look super exclusive. We knew a promoter and were told that we would get all of our guests in and mind you this is for a birthday...as if they really cared. Half the guests couldn't get in until 12 AM and everyone else wasn't able to make it inside because they let in prostitute looking women instead of classy and attractive ladies. Nice one. The management team and whoever is in charge of organizing this place is clearly not capable of training their staff to act professionally and somewhat respectful. You would think they'd appreciate your business and continue to maintain their name as a "popular" and "happening" Hollywood club that they supposedly claim to be, but they failed on that part. After impatiently waiting and eventually yelling at the douche bag promoters who all looked drugged out and didn't have a clue about anything we finally got inside and the cheesy bouncer walked us in through a huge unnecessary door that made the club seem so spectacular, which it really wasn't all that great as everyone hyped it up to be. I'll admit the design was nice, but I expected more from what I saw in the pictures on their website. We didn't get a chance to see the upstairs portion because the whole night we dealt with hassles and trying to talk to the bouncers that were power tripping like they have an important job to do besides standing their like a 7 ft idiot. Music sucked. I could've done a better job and brought my ipod instead of listening to the oldest songs by DMX and other rappers we used to listen to back in the day. Didn't play any new good songs that everyone would love. Not to forget the little man in the corner making hot dogs that made you smell like you've been sitting in a BBQ grill for hours. So tacky, but it matched the extremely trashy crowd I guess. Be cautious of leaving your tab open at the bar because the bartender decided to charge a bunch of other people's drink orders onto my credit card. We had fun for the most part while we were dancing and tried to make the best of the remainder of the night. The tiny dance floor had drunk broads falling all over the place and guys dropping drinks on the floor and spilling on people because they couldn't handle their liquor. Don't know why those people weren't thrown out, but I got pulled aside by another dumbass bouncer who told me that he had been keeping an eye on my friend and that she needed to not act drunk. Funny thing is she wasn't even close to being drunk or inappropriate in any way and he was just talking out of his ass to get people to start leaving since the club was closing in a few mins. Real cute. That was the last straw and we left right after just because we were fed up with dealing with anyone elses unnecessary attitude at this lame place. Super overrated and the typical Hollywood club and scene, if you enjoy that kind of atmosphere you'd love it here otherwise forget about it find a more enjoyable place. You'll save yourself a lot of time and effort!

I suggest the sea bass. It is @%#$ incredible. Of course, TAO is pricey. And a bit loud. But in turn, it is a trendy spot with fabulous decor, service, food, and drinks. Great place to impress non-New Yorkers. Great place to take a date that you don't really feel like talking to. Great place to go with a bunch of girls so you don't feel like your being to loud. Did I mention delicious? Delicious.
