2 Grilled fish tacos nick's way = total satisfaction. I get a kick out of the trashy faded discoteque vibe with the mirrors, velvet seats and disco ball--it's totally easy to envision polyester suit-clad men with their gold chains and shirts unbuttoned down to there, and women in their quiana Diane Von Furstenburg-ish dresses and Farrah Fawcett hairdos hustling the night away...but it seems a little dirty.

I have avoided reviewing this place for some time now. I actually went here a few months ago and I just feel like my experience of it was probably vastly different than the average experience. For starters I was there for an event that had an open bar and free hors d'oeuvres and I was able to go to the roof. I didn't wait in any lines and I was personally escorted into the party. So I will say that by the end of the night when I left and saw the hundreds of people jockeying to get into the club I thought, oh man that looks crappy. Not only that but I think my experience was decidedly skewed by the fact that I met an amazing blond girl who I ended up spending the night with dancing in the bottom club and making out. So for a guy, this is really going to alter my impression of this place. Literally I had the ultimate guys night here. All the annoyances somehow just melted away. But that being said, if I could give stars for decor alone this place would get 6 stars hands down. I would do whatever it takes to see this place just for the decor alone. I was astonished. If you can avoid the hype and go on a night where you don't have to play the game trying to get in, definitely take the chance. As far as clubs go, they all have the same irritations and I am sure Kress is no different. I wish everyone else the same luck I had with this place, you never know your experience might be just as good.

I finally made it to South City Kitchen this past Sunday (for the brunch menu) after craving over their online menu for quite a while now. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they were spectacular blended with the red sauce and cream cheese. They also bring out some cornbread and biscuits before the meal and they are as good as it gets! I ordered the omelette of the day which was an amazing creation of pork and mozarrella cheese. I tasted the fantastic chicken that my mother ordered and watched my dad destroy a bowl of shrimp n' scallops n' grits. I'll assume he enjoyed it. My sister got the South City breakfast and my wife got a Crab-quiche dish that she enjoyed. My family isn't tough to please with food, but everyone truly enjoyed their meal. They've done a nice job with the interior of the restaurant, giving it a nice southern charm to fit their delicious southern cuisine. If you've never been here I strongly recommend you give it a try...especially if you're a yankee. Enjoy some sweet tea and grits!
