Oh boy...I mean girl, ugh I mean.... I came here for a bachelorette party with 13 Girls on a Saturday night. After reading all the reviews and looking at the Asia SF website I was really impressed. I was expecting to be "wowed" with an awesome dinner, cool people, and amazing show. Oh boy, was I wrong. Food is nothing more than mediocre. I'm a huge foodie, I love to eat and try new things, but the food here was far from spectacular. I was shocked that other people in the group thought it was good. Most of the things were below average for me. A few of dishes were served cold and made me think I could do a better job if I had made it myself at home. The next let down, the Show. I was expecting this nice restaurant with a cool stage in the middle and this awesome show during dinner. Ugh...well, the restaurant is really a bar. A rectangular shaped room with a U shaped bar in the middle that everyone is seated around at high tables that have booth seating on one side and bar stools on the other. The Show is performed on top of one side of the actual bar. And when I say Show, I mean the girls, as in 2-4 girls come out one at a time and lip sync/dance to a song. It reminded me of something you might do at home in front of a mirror, nothing spectacular, no bells and whistles here. Comical yes, but nothing worth seeing again. The whole thing lasts about 5 minutes. I sat there waiting for something good to happen... I don't know what, glitter, beads, champagne shower...I don't know give me something other than a really good looking guy who now looks like a girl and is lip singing to "I kissed a girl". But nope that's all I got. Alright time for the biggest whammy of all, The Price. I don't even want to type it out because it's just a nagging reminder that I spent $67 on all of this. Set menu price, to eat here on a Saturday night at 7pm with tax and tip (no drinks) start at $67 a person. Add in the two glasses of wine I had and $90 later I am shaking my head in disapproval. Done being negative Nancy. Let me end on a good note. Overall cool experience if that's your cup of tea. I guess I'm just glad I can say, "been there done that". Servers are awesome, good looking, on top of things and friendly. Made sure we were taken care of and happy the whole time. It was fun to sit there the whole time and go no way is that a guy! I would probably give it a much higher rating if this place was only about $30-40 a person because that's honestly all I think this whole experience is worth. The fact that it starts at $70 blows my mind. All I can say is I have no desire to go back. If the food or show was better I may be tempted, but since neither were that great I am going to have to pass for now.

I'm reviewing Webster Hall the concert venue not Webster Hall the dance club, though I am sure the latter is as horrible as the reviews have made it out to be. Webster Hall is a great venue in theory -- it just looks like a good place to go to shows, to me.  I love the sign outside, the checkerboard floor, and the bar floating in the middle in the back.  But it just doesn't deliver.  The sound is terrible.  Never, ever watch a show from the first few rows.  Seeing a band up close is great, but you won't remember what they sounded like simply because you will never hear them well enough to make a memory of that sound.  The only times I thought the sound was decent was when I was hanging in the mostly way back, where you can't see at all. Also, expensive drinks, boo.  And expensive coat check. I'd give 'em one star but the second star was tacked on for all of the wonderful acts I was able to see here.  Including the Secret Machines (multiple times) and the Flobots.  Rock on.

Omakase was AMAZING. I had the 80 flight and enjoyed every course. I will gladly go back next trip to Philly.
