by Rusty T. on What happened to this place? Bad music, expensive drinks and cops surrounding the joint don't add up to a fun night out for me. To its credit, I used to really enjoy myself at Sherlocks, but that was several years ago. Maybe it's usually better? I went on a Saturday night so you would think it was prime time. Oh well.
by Chauncey Kenmore on Ladies, you'll never lack for respectful and experienced dance partners here! There are plenty of serious salsa dancers here who are more than willing to teach you what they know, and you don't have to worry about being touched in places that no stranger should be touching. I believe tonight is the first time ever in a dance club where I did not have to slap anyone. There are free dance lessons at 8pm on Fridays, though by free I mean you have to pay the $15 cover charge. However, you get to stay the entire night until closing, so not a bad deal at all. A word of warning...stay away from the food and the drinks. If I were writing this review on the food, it'll be a 1-star review. And the drinks had almost no alcoholic content at all. Though that may be intentional, because bad things can happen if you spin an inebriated person around too many times...
by Brenda T. on It was Saturday night, had a fab dinner at Fresca wanted somewhere to dance the sangria away. I had a good buzz. One of my girls suggested Suede,we were all up for it. After all, it was already 12:30 and we were taking detours around the Castro as it was Pride Week. We finally arrived well after 1(they close at 2) and they still wanted to charge us $20? WTF? My buzz was gone.
